The Service Technician will be responsible for installations and technical support of systems such as, but not limited to, Strata Digital Bridge Plus Leaky Feeder, Strata fiber and high-speed data networking components, Strata CommTrac Wireless Communications and Tracking, HazardAvert® Proximity Detection Systems, and Cap Lamps. They will also provide support, maintenance, inspection and repair on underground emergency refuge chambers.

The Field Service Technician reports to the General Manager and works closely with members of other departments.  This position is Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime pay).

Some of the Essential Duties:

    •    Installs and commissions Safety Product Systems.
    •    Services, repairs, maintains Safety Product Systems.
    •    Provides professional service and technical support to Customers.
    •    Serves as a technical expert to Customers.
    •    Provides product training to Customers.
    •    Supports, maintains, inspects and repairs underground mine refuge chambers.
    •    Performs other functions and duties as needed and/or as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Experience with installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
•    Experience with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems or push to talk (PTT) radio systems
•    Knowledgeable of basic TCP/IP network and WIFI protocols
•    Hands on experience with installation and maintenance of fiber optic cabling
•    Underground tunneling or mining experience is preferred but not essential
•    Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Service Technician's starting pay will be competitive and commensurate with the chosen candidate’s qualifications and experience.  This position requires travel on a regular basis to customer sites. Trips will require overnight stay away from home for one or more nights. This is a Non-Exempt position, which is eligible for overtime pay.
